I don't play a lot of fighting games so I can't compare it with the other greats like Street Fighter or King of Fighters or even Guilty Gear (all of which I have heard a lot about but never really played). I decided to pick this up for a couple of good reasons. Firstly, it's got really good reviews (but so does Street Fighter 4 you might argue). Here's the thing though. I love Japanese anime and this game just oozes with "animeness". It also features a rich and intriguing back story, which was what really made me decide to pick it up. After playing it for some time now, it really does live up to my expectations. The game play is amazing, and every move, from the simplest to the most complicated is important. You won't find yourself button meshing but instead trying to maneuver your character tactically (executing beautiful combos along the way). It's a challenging game, but not scary for beginners, seriously. There's also plenty to do, so you won't get bored too fast. If you love fighting games, I'm not sure why you haven't gone and get it! If you don't play fighting games but love anime, you might want to try this game too. For the rest, if you just love great games, get this one.
